I recently discovered a poem my husband wrote back in 1995. During that time, he was working long hours, seven days a week, while I stayed home with our girls. Despite his demanding schedule, he found the time to express his feelings through his writing. The poem is incredibly heartfelt and captures the essence of his love and dedication. We both felt it was too special to keep to ourselves, so we decided to share it with everyone. We hope it resonates with you as much as it does with us.

Here I sit, brokenhearted,

Me and my TV dinner, which I've just started.

Pondering the whereabouts of my lovely wife,

My two little girls, the loves of my life.

I called to reach them, but to no avail;

A ring and no answer—my heart gone pale.

If they only could see the love that I have,

I'm sure they'd come running and keep me from wondering.

Here I go to work, alone and sad,

But I know I'll see them later, for which I'm glad.
